Michèle Weil-Guthmann has worked throughout her career in conflict resolution: judge, diplomat, negotiator for France and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and finally mediator and arbitrator.

Honorary magistrate today, she was, judge until 1998, then Vice-President of the TGI of Paris.

Then diplomat, in charge of international negotiations, legal advisor to the Permanent Representation of France to the United Nations in Geneva, she represented France in multilateral negotiations, in particular in the work of the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC) set up by the Security Council, and in the field of intellectual property.

She also served as Director of the Office of the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). In this capacity, she participated in most of the strategic discussions concerning intellectual property and the Organization as a whole.

At the crossroads and in the continuity of her previous professional experiences, Michèle, a certified company administrator (ASC), has chosen to develop amicable conflict resolution through mediation and good governance.

She is now mainly a mediator, arbitrator and trainer. She practices mediation in France and Switzerland (Geneva and Vaud) with courts and appeal tribunals as well as with numerous national and international mediation and arbitration centers where she is referenced, accredited or sworn.

Experienced mediator in various fields (intellectual property, commercial, social, family, successions and partition, international…), she also practices mediation within international institutions.

Active in the promotion of mediation for a tailor-made, humanistic and responsible justice, both for companies and for individuals, she is vice-president of the European Group of Magistrates for Mediation (GEMME-France).

Finally, she intervenes as a trainer, among others at the Institute for Training in Negotiation and Mediation (IFOMENE), the National School for Magistrates (ENM) and various universities, schools for lawyers or training centers, and as a judge in international mediation competitions.

She works in French and English.
