Mediator – Paris - Munich

Martin Hauser has legal experience in intellectual property, IT, licensing, distribution, competition, complex industrial projects and international business law.

With over 30 years’ practice as a business lawyer in commercial litigation, international arbitration and negotiations, Martin Hauser works exclusively as a mediator on the resolution of complex and emotional legal disputes, where he applies skills in psychology and intercultural communication.

Internationally recognized as an expert in mediation and intercultural negotiation, he conducts national and international commercial mediations in French, English and German.

Martin Hauser is an accredited mediator in Germany and France (Cour d’Appel de Paris, CNMA, Paris). He is accredited with mediation institutions such as CMAP, Paris, ICC International ADR Center, Paris, and WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, Geneva. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the IAM, Dallas. Since 2015, he has been invited as a professional to participate in the annual ICC “International Commercial Mediation Competition” in Paris, and since 2018, as an expert, in the annual “IBA-VIAC CDRC Mediation and Negotiation Competition” in Vienna. He is Vice Chair of the Mediation Committee of the IBA International Bar Association and is selected by WWL Who’s Who Legal Mediation in 2019 and 2020.

Martin Hauser is a member of the Munich (Rechtsanwalt) and Paris (avocat honoraire) Bars. From 1988 to 2019, he was a founding partner of BMH AVOCATS, Paris. From 1980 to 1983, before joining Delvolvé & Associés, Paris, in 1984, he was a researcher in French intellectual property and competition law at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich.

His publications include “La médiation commerciale en France et en Allemagne – une comparaison” in French, and “Wirtschaftsmediation in Frankreich und Deutschland im Vergleich” in German.

Martin Hauser holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Negotiation and Mediation from the European University Viadrina Frankfurt Oder (2015), Master of Comparative Jurisprudence (MCJ) from New York University (NYU) (1986), Doctor of Laws (Dr. iur.) from the University of Munich (1983) and law degrees from the Universities of Munich and Freiburg i. Br. (1985, 1979).
